Soccer Referee Clinic
Yes ….. you can be a soccer referee!
This clinic is open to anyone (no age limitations) who is interested
in becoming a soccer referee.
* Thursday April 3rd 6pm – 10pm
* Friday April 4th 6pm – 10pm
* Saturday April 5th 8am – 6pm
To be held at: Durango City Hall corner of E. 2nd Ave & 10th St. Durango
This is an official UNITED STATES SOCCER FEDERATION course and will qualify you to referee youth and adult soccer. Refereeing is fun: learn more about the rules of soccer, meet other referees, earn money (DYSA pays from $18 to $30 per game according to the level of the game), advance from youth to adult and later to High School and College games. All are welcome. You may attend just to know the rules better or to actually become a certified referee.
This course will be taught by nationally certified USSF referee instructors and uses overhead slides, videos and demonstrations, in a classroom setting.
Course includes a rulebook and a referee patch, for those candidates who wish to become a working referee.
The clinic is FREE. However, if you pass the course and then wish to register as a certified referee with the USSF, there is a $50.00 membership fee. Call DYSA if you need help with the membership fee. As a beginning referee you will only be offered games at your ‘comfort’ level.
