Dear United States Soccer Referee Candidates,
Rio Rapids Durango Soccer Club and Colorado Soccer Association is proud to sponsor a United States Soccer Referee Course in Durango, Colorado.
PLEASE NOTE: This course has two parts…online and field session.

Required On-The-Field Session
This Sunday portion is an on-the-field session with drills and games. EACH REFEREE CANDIDATE WILL NEED A WHISTLE. I recommend a Fox 40 whistle as they are easy to use and widely available.
Required Online Session
Each referee candidate must also complete all the online modules before the field session. Make sure your browser has pop-ups turned on and utilize Chrome, if possible, and this course does NOT work on phones. The online course components will take 3-5 hours and must be completed before April 23.
Working through the assignments will offer lots of information for how to be a referee, including a background check (if you are over 18). There are different stages with the assignments - please make sure that you complete all the required items and save your progress. If there is a “DRAFT” in the box, you are not quite done with that section/assignment yet.
If you must leave the course, be sure to close your browser window, so your progress is saved.
One more hint: In section 5, do the yellow cards first and then the red cards.
If you think you’ve completed the assignment and do not see a green “complete” next to your assignment, make sure you go back in and save your progress or click “complete” on the lesson (Sometimes that got last click missed and that’s all it takes to get it complete).
Participants will be expected to participate in all activities as part of their training on Saturday, October 8 field session. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions and for moving on the soccer field. Everyone should bring a whistle, wristwatch, something to write on and with. PLEASE BRING WATER, SNACKS, SUNSCREEN FOR YOUR PERSONAL USE.
UNIFORM
You may purchase your referee gear from any soccer referee uniform supplier.
I strongly suggest ordering as soon as you have registered for the class.
