RRDSC coaches will evaluate players on the four pillars of player development including the following:
Technical (Skill) Development
Tactical Development
systems of play suited to number of players on field
Executing positional roles
essential game elements – overlaps, give and go, switching play, etc.
recognizing other team’s tactics
etc.
Physical Development
speed
endurance
strength
agility
flexibility
etc.
Mental Development
focus
concentration
confidence
decision making, anticipation, perception
team atmosphere and environment
Etc.
The first and second night will include a technical warm-up, small sided and 11v11 full sided game play. Additionally, the Directors of Coaching and the current age group coaches are continually evaluating players over the course of the 2023 Spring season to add to the identification process. If a player cannot attend both nights we will use the one night plus their regular coach's evaluation for placement.
There will be a $10 administrative fee for all players who would like to attend the Tryouts. Players will not participate in the tryouts without registration and payment of the $10.00 fee. Players MUST bring both their White and Maroon game jerseys to the tryouts in order to be identified throughout the trainings. Players who are new to RRDSC will be given a training bib in leiu of the jersey
Team structure is at the discretion of the Directors of Coaching. This is highly dependent on player pool numbers and ability level in the group.
